Wrenford Collection – Selwyn Snowfields

The Selwyn Snowfields are located in the northern area of the Snowy Mountains of NSW, near the towns of Adaminaby and Cabramurra, and close to the historical site of Kiandra where skiing began in Australia in the 1860s. The resort is popular with families and offers a variety of runs for skiers of all abilities.
In January 2020 bushfires burnt through the resort, destroying practically all infrastructure. Rebuilding of the resort is underway, with plans to open for the 2022 winter season.

This collection is part of a 10,000 image library by photographer Barry Wrenford – a complete time capsule of the Snowies during the 1980’s and up into the 90’s. Almost all are pristine high resolution master transparencies that were taken using two Linhof cameras, one for 6x7cm and the other for 6x17cm format. The detailed images will be seen to their best advantage on a large computer screen.
